It has been well-established that common powder based Co-Q10
is poorly absorbed. It must be taken in large doses resulting in relatively
high cost. Recently an important advance in formulation allows the
production of a highly bio-available form of Co-Q10 that is also more
cost effective.
Q-Gel Forte is a unique oil-based patent -pending form of Co-Q10.

The following appeared in the Journal for the American Pharmaceutical
Association:
"We therefore undertook a systematic evaluation of softgels
containing the suspension, powder-filled hardshell capsules, powder-based
tablet formula, and a new water-miscible form in softgels (called
Q-Gel). When tested for dissolution according to USP 23, the first
three products failed the test completely (0% dissolution), whereas
Q-Gel showed 100% dissolution. Thus, the test was indicative of
poor bioavailability of the suspension and powder-based products.
Next, the relative bioavailabilities of the products were tested
in two separate randomized double-blind clinical trials using a
daily dose of 120 mg. of coenzyme Q10. Plasma coenzyme Q10 was determined
by HPLC and the bioavailability calculated using the area under
the curve values. The relative bioavailability data from both trials
indicate that the new water-miscible form of coenzyme Q10 (Q-Gel)
is far superior (about 300%) to the other three product types, (p.
